Once you are familiar with the process of creating your own simulations and adding interactions, you may be wondering where to go next and how to make the simulations even more immersive and with greater learning potential, here is where we introduce branching stories.

Below are the steps to add branching video into your simulations, this will give you a lot of flexibility over the learning outcomes. Our main advice before you start this journey is to start simple and plan.

There are a couple of ways you can create branching storylines within your simulation.

1. Redirect at the end of current video

  1. Select the + sign at the end of the video bar

  2. Under the 'End Action' dropdown select 'Play another video'. Then under 'Redirect to Video' choose the video you would like to redirect to. Note: you can only select videos you have uploaded to this simulation. To upload videos go to the 'Videos' tab within the simulation.

2. Redirect video using a Hotspot

  1. Insert a hotpot at your chosen time and position in your simulation. Under 'Hotspot Type' select 'play another video'

  2. Under 'Redirect to Video' choose the video you would like to redirect to. Note: you can only select videos you have uploaded to this simulation. To upload videos go to the 'Videos' tab within the simulation.

  3. Save changes by clicking the 'Save Interaction' button

3. Redirect using an answer

  1. Add a question at your chosen time and position in your simulation, enter the possible answers to your question as normal.

  2. Next to the answer you would like to redirect from click the dropdown arrow on the right

  3. Under 'Action' select 'Redirect' then select your chosen video. Note: you can only select videos you have uploaded to this simulation. To upload videos go to the 'Videos' tab within the simulation.

  4. Save changes by clicking the 'Save Interaction' button
