The user is the camera
The 360 camera represents the viewer's point of view. Ensure interactions and placements are natural and believable.
Avoid placing the camera in unrealistic locations, such as the middle of a table.
Watch the time
VR experiences often feel longer than they are. Focus on conveying key points rather than the duration.
Focus on the users' emotions
Decide the emotional impact you want your video to have, whether it's confidence, preparedness, empathy, or another feeling.
Optimize the shoot
Keep the camera still to prevent motion sickness. Avoid mounting it on your head.
Objects in VR can appear closer than they are, so always test shots. A good rule of thumb is to test what looks OK on a flat screen and then take a step back.
Ensure professional quality by managing lighting, and sound. If necessary, use an external microphone. It is always best to record in rooms with carpet and furniture to dampen the sound.
Engage the user
Avoid placing the camera in a corner where the user feels ignored. Make sure the action acknowledges the viewer's there.
To help actors engage with the camera, add googly eyes to it. This technique reduces jitters and encourages eye contact with the lens.
